NEXT MEETING THURSDAY 9TH JULY VENUE (CONFIRMED AS DISCUSSED) MINERS’ CHAPEL HALL 7PM-8PM

This meeting is largely dedicated to a group discussion regarding a community energy project and further
in light of the advice and support available/offered at the recent Community Energy Cornwall & Isles of Scilly -Network Day in Wadebridge on Wednesday 1st July the proposal is to look at writing an initial EOI (Expression of Interest). This may sound premature but was recommended as a useful excercise for us and reassured that it would in no way commit groups to or disadvantage any future applications and is useful information for the funding adjudicators in terms of scale of interest in community energy across the country as well as project sizes and further weight/ evidence for future funding requests (ie budgets) allocated for Great British Energy money.

We will also agree a date for Emily (Tarrant) – Far West Business Network to facilitate a meeting re a website and potentially forming a wider Media and Messaging focus group. Emily has provisionally offered Tuesday 21st July 7pm or Tuesday 28th July at 7pm for this purpose.

Please don’t hesitate to invite other interested members of the community to the meeting, which will be publicised on the Town Council Website. As of yet we remain the ‘St Just and Pendeen Community (Peoples Emergency Briefing/Screening) Group’ but will need to reinvent ourselves or at least the name and to agree/write some kind of document as to the groups aims and objectives and codes of practice. This is likely to be a meeting in itself- hopefully one with food and refreshments!

Lastly, thank you all for your patience with the initial set up of this highly organic group, which may feel (quite fairly) has initially, been dominated by a core group amongst us who have had prior investment but all of whom have acknowledged, appreciate and value the importance of creating a safe space and giving each other an opportunity to be heard and listened to at meetings. Now we are over the initial excitement, we will observe our own observations better 😉 and please all of us do continue to communicate any advice/constructive criticism to aid our groups evolution.
