The Town Council has responsibility for the maintenance of seats and benches on public open spaces across the Parish. (Anyone wishing to place a memorial bench on a public space should contact the Town Clerk in the first instance.)

The Town Council has responsibility for the maintenance and repair of several bus shelters across the Parish.


The Council provides a number of free to use car parking facilities in Pendeen and St. Just after taking over the car-parks in Pendeen and St. Just from Cornwall Council in 2023.

Public Access Defibrillators are located in public places accessible in an emergency and can be used without any training by following the voice instructions given by the machine.
Our Grants Scheme is open to community organisations in St Just & Pendeen and the surrounding villages of Bojewyan, Boscaswell, Botallack, Carnyorth, Nancherrow, Tregeseal, Trewellard and Truthwall.

St Just Library is owned and managed by the Town Council and supported by Cornwall Council. The Library is open for browsing with 4 public computers available along with photocopying and printing.

The Council owns and maintain the Play Park in Pendeen that will cater for a wide age range, facilitating both individual and group activities.


The Plain-an-Gwarry or 'playing place' which stands at the heart of St. Just is one of the few surviving examples of a medieval open air theatre in Cornwall and is Scheduled Monument.

The Council took over the running of 2 public toilets in St. Just and Pendeen from Cornwall Council in 2023 to make sure that they would stay open.


The Council is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and repair of the memorial situated in Bank Square.
